What to do When You Feel Stuck and Don't Know What to Email Your List | Content Creation Tips, Email Marketing tips |  Branding  and business  coach | Michelle Knight of Brandmerry

Before we dive in, I want to invite you to my upcoming masterclass: 5 Steps to Create an Authentic Brand. This is going to be way different than any webinar you've been to before because, let's be honest, I hate webinars. So I'm changing the game and bringing you this masterclass that is packed full of valuable information and giving you 5 actionable steps to create your own authentic brand. Join me here: Brandmerry.com/authenticbrand

Okay, now back to what to do when you feel stuck and don't know what to email your list or post on social media. How many times have you gone to email your list and sat in front of that blank email, unsure of what to share with your community? How many times have you done it for a Facebook post? An Instagram caption? Am I starting to see a theme?

In November of 2017, it felt like I had lost every idea in my mind. I was really struggling to come up with content. I was struggling to email my list and post in Authentic Brand Builders. So I came up with a process to get unstuck, and that's what I'm sharing with you today. Life happens, I get it. So even if you're not feeling this way now, this information may be good to keep in the back of your mind, so when something does come up, you can still show up for your community and overcome the slump. If you've ever felt this way before, comment below and share your story! I love to read your comments.

Why are you feeling stuck

We really want to pinpoint why you're feeling this way. It's not because you ran out of ideas. We always have ideas. Something else is blocking you and keeping you stuck. For myself, I was feeling a severe lack of confidence in November. Had I gone and posted to or emailed my community, it probably wouldn't even resonate with my audience because I wasn't inspired, and I wasn't confident. Ask yourself why? What is blocking you and why?

Make sure you know your audience

Check in with yourself and make sure you know your audience well. If you know your audience, it's much easier to come up with ideas and often times when we feel stuck it's because we don't know who we are talking to. We feel like we're talking to everyone. When we are trying to talk to too many people, we talk to no one. When you go to write that email or that social media post, it's really, really important you know who you're talking to.

Follow these 3 steps to get unstuck

1. Write an email about that very moment (your why to being stuck from number 1).

Write about your current situation and what you're going through right now (or at that moment of feeling stuck). Make sure it gives value to your audience. This will help you build trust with your audience, it will help you relate with your audience and it will give you something to talk about.

2. Have a brain dump

Be open to receiving the ideas and write everything that you can possibly think of down. If you haven't corrected the barrier of ideas flowing out, you won't be able to have the ideas flow in. You have to be open to receiving the ideas otherwise they won't come. But as soon as they do come, they won't stop. Sit down with a notebook and write down all of the ideas.

3. Pull from the archives

The archives are your story. Anything that has happened in the past. We can pull from the archives and share those stories in a way that give value to your community. You can give tips to your audience who may be going through the same thing. This is so, so powerful. This is why I believe storytelling is the basis for every successful entrepreneur. Storytelling is about you being comfortable sharing your truth in a way that resonates with your audience and gives value.

BONUS TIP: If fear is blocking you...

Think about the person you want to attract to your brand. The person you want to respond to your message. Write to them. Write to that person. Break through the noise, speak your truth, get over the fear and just do it.

You can watch the video for a more in-depth version of this and several bonus tips below!

Why I made the switch from Buffer to SmarterQueue

WHY I MADE THE SWITCH FROM BUFFER TO SMARTERQUEUE

Why I Made the Switch from Buffer to SmarterQueue for scheduling my social media content

I've been called a content machine by multiple people and it is something I'm damn proud of, but I have to be honest I have a secret weapon that helps me get everything I create out into the world and not just one single time.

I mean if you are going to take the time to create a blog post, record a Youtube video or write a super amazing post for social media, that does REALLY well, doesn't it make sense to keep that content visible to your audience?

I was spending time writing blogs for my website and after posting them on multiple platforms on Friday, the post would go and die unless by chance my SEO at the time kicked in and someone saw it (this was before my eyes were opened to the power of Pinterest btw).

Now I let my content run on automate thanks to SmarterQueue who makes it easier than ever and for a fraction of the price of Meet Edgar.

Below I'm sharing the top features I love about SmarterQueue and how you can use them for your biz.

**Disclaimer: The links in this post are affiliate links meaning I will receive a little bonus if you decide to sign up for the service. As a thank you by clicking the link you will receive an extended 30 day trial to test it out for yourself!

#1 Categories are my JAM!

I love the category feature in SmarterQueue. It allows you to create a calendar which features categories (this is drag and drop by the way - my fav) so you can have different types of content recycling on your page at any given time. Here's a video from SmarterQueue where they explain this time-saving feature.

#2 Add images, video and gifs to your posts

This was huge for me because I love to add personality to everything I'm posting online, especially when it comes to Facebook where an image can grab the attention of your audience. SmarterQueue makes it super easy to add an image, search of gifs or even add a video to your prescheduled post.

#3 Recycle your content

This is hands down my favorite feature of SmarterQueue because it allows me to increase the lifespan of my content. With SmarterQueue you can create a category like videos or blog posts and then add an RSS feed to that category. For instance, the Brandmerry Blog category includes all my blog posts which are then recycled in the queue based on my schedule and are shown month after month to my growing audience.

How to Rock Your Facebook Lives for Maximum Exposure

HOW TO ROCK YOUR FACEBOOK LIVES FOR MAXIMUM EXPOSURE

Facebook Live is an excellent tool to build trust with your community and increase your visibility, but it can also be a little overwhelming. In just a year I've used consistent Facebook Lives to sell a range of items from $97 to $8,000 packages. Now, I'm sharing how I structure my live streams so you can do the same to maximum exposure.

I swear live video is the best thing to happen to online marketing! I embraced live video early on in my entrepreneur journey and I've seen it convert clients effortlessly every single time.

When I started live streaming I would stress so much about what I was wearing and what my background looked like, it stressed me out so much I often forgot what I was even doing a live video for in the first place.

I quickly embraced my beautiful life of zero makeup, a baby on my back or in my lap and focusing on the main reason live video works in the first place - BUILDING TRUST AND GIVING MASSIVE VALUE.

Today's blog and video is all about How to Rock Your Live Streams Again and Again for Massive Exposure.

I'm be dissecting my own live stream to share with you:

1) The structure to follow for your live streams to leave your audience complete and full of actionable knowledge (aka no overwhelm).

2) How to increase engagement on your live streams to beat the algorithm.

3) How I lowered my ad costs by over 50% by using live video!

Want more live videos like this from me popping up in your newsfeed every week?I go live every Monday for Mondays With Michelle over on my Facebook Business Page.

3 questions to ask if you're feeling OVERLOOKED in the online space

3 QUESTIONS TO ASK IF YOU'RE FEELING OVERLOOKED IN THE ONLINE SPACE

Let me paint you a little picture.

9 times out of 10 it isn't your copy it is your messaging. The messaging of your brand needs to be clear and specific before you can expect people to react, engage and buy from your social media posts. I'm giving you 3 questions to ask yourself today!

Client: "No one is responding to my posts or emails and I'm not selling anything, I think my messaging is off."
Me: "Well let's have a look, send me your message."
Client: **sends over a FB social media post**
Me: "This is copy, not your messaging. Fixing this isn't going to fix the problem."

Let's all look at copy as the surface level and your messaging the core. Your copy matters obviously, I mean I did an entire challenge on this, but if you are REALLY struggling most likely it isn't what you are saying, it's WHY you are saying it.

Your messaging, just like your brand, is the core of your business. When we rush into writing newsletters, social postings, FB ads, etc... without having a clear idea of our core brand messages, we end up flailing around just hoping someone will engage with us.
Sound familiar?

I'm not pointing fingers, I've done it too - in fact that is basically ALL I did this time last year. Sure I was visible and I was "marketing", but nothing was happening. I spent three months going live, hosting trainings, showing up in multiple groups, etc.. and not one single potential client was paying me ANY attention. Why? Because I wasn't clear on EXACTLY what it is my brand and business was built around.

Think of a mind map. Your core message is in a circle in the center and from there you have countless stems that point to your programs, social media posts, live streams, courses, etc...

When you create a brand around these messages everything flows seamlessly to them and you avoid confusing the shit out of your potential clients.

If you are struggling with your messaging, ask yourself these questions:
⇉ What do I teach/ give my clients?
⇉ Why do I offer these services?
⇉ How do they grow from them?

When you have these fundamental pieces in place your copy becomes more clear, your intention becomes more clear, you attract the people who you want to work with and so much more.

Messaging is a HUGE piece of the puzzle when it comes to launching and running a successful business, again you gotta trust me on this because I've lived it. When I took the time to really focus on my messaging I started consistently signing clients into my 1:1 program, growing my community, selling my courses via funnels, etc. I'm living proof that your messaging DOES matter, especially in the online world.

So, if your social media posts aren't performing how you would like them too, get to the root of the issue, before dealing with the surface level shit!
