SELLING YOUR PROGRAMS: HOW TO SELL WITHOUT FEELING SALESY
Let's talk about SELLING WITHOUT FEELING SALESY and the trick that I have learned over the past year and a half with my business to do it in a way that doesn't feel gross. Because one thing I hear from the women in my community, Authentic Brand Builders is,
"Michelle, I want to promote my services but I don't want to do it in a way that pisses people off."
"Michelle, I really need to promote my programs and my services and my offers but I feel like people are constantly bombarded with offers every single day."
And if you are hanging out basically anywhere in social media you know this to be 100% true.
There is a really simple method where you show up as your true self and you can make sales, it really is so easy and I'm sharing the simple steps below:
NUMBER ONE - Making connections
You need to be making connections all the time. You need to be building relationships all the time. If you have your own community, which I highly recommend by the way, you need to always be opening the door for them to message you and to ask questions. Show up and do a livestream where they can do Q and A. Make them feel like they are welcome to reach out to you because this right here, that's the trust factor that we all need to be building and all need to be working on as we go through 2018 and into the years to come.
The reality is social media is changing so what you need to do leading into everything that you create online is about building trust, about building connections and about building authentic relationships. Don't think that messaging someone that you've never spoken to is going to make a sale.
NUMBER TWO: SELLING ISN'T REALLY ABOUT SELLING
I love to tell my clients and my community it's about offering. It's about saying, hey look, I know this is what you're struggling with and you know this because you already started making a connection with them, and I know that this is what you really, really want in the year to come, and again you know this because you've already started to make a connection with them. I wanted to let you know about what I offer helps you get from here to here. If you're interested, [insert really amazing offer here}.
What changes with this is that you are coming from a genuine place. You're not saying, "Hey my offer is $97 and it'll help you do this, this and this and this. Schedule a call here." You're coming from a truly authentic place with your marketing and connecting with where they are, where they want to be and basically offering up your offer, your sale, your promotion, whatever it is, in a way that not only feels good to you but is received openly by your audience.
I can't tell you how many times I have had the privilege of making connections with my audience, reaching out to them through messenger or email and them coming onboard with one on one coaching or with a program - it's because they trust me!
The one thing I want you to remember as you head into 2018 is one of my favorite quotes of all time. It says, "If people like you, they will listen to you. If they trust you, they will buy from you." Start building that trust the second someone joins your community or your email list. Keep building it and when the time comes that you need to make an offer, you need to make a sale, you can reach out and truly offer from an authentic place.
Here's the thing, selling isn't salesy unless you make it salesy. So don't make it salesy. Make it a natural extension of who you are. Make it a natural extension of conversation that you've had through your community and just look at it as offering up this beautiful package that will help your ideal client go from here to here.
