Your ideal core content format is...
PODCASTING

You've got the perfect personality and platform for podcasting, and I've got to tell you it's one of my favorite types of content to create.

There are so many options from solo episodes to interviews, and educational to personal episodes - the variety is awesome.

Not to mention, I can typically record a month's worth of episodes in a few hours, with a delicious cup of coffee (or sometimes wine) in my comfy clothes! #winning

Honestly, podcasting brings in the highest ROI for Brandmerry based on the time and money investment, and I'm excited to share some of my top strategies to get you started. Let's dive in!

Here are a few reasons podcast marketing works so well as a core marketing strategy!

  • In 2025, over 584 million people worldwide tune into podcasts monthly, and that number is expected to surpass 600 million by year’s end.

  • Around 55% of U.S. residents aged 12+ listen at least once a month, up from 47% in 2024.

  • 40% of Americans tune in weekly, averaging over 8 episodes per week

  • Weekly podcast listeners tend to be well-educated, financially secure, and early adopters, with about 20% having household incomes of $100K+ .

Pretty cool, right?!

Now let's get into some strategy!

HERE ARE MY TOP TIPS FOR GETTING STARTED...

  1. Begin by planning out 90 days, yes, 3 months, worth of content.
That's just 12 pieces of content (1 video a week to start). This content plan should be focused on three core elements:

    1. Your upcoming promoted product or service
    2. Your Ideal Customer's Psychographics
    3. SEO research for your industry and platform (note SEO varies based on the platform you’re using).

Inside the Authentic Brand Builders Academy, we teach Content Made Simple and make this easy peasy, and something you can rinse and repeat every 90 days.

  2. Create a workflow that you can repeat weekly.
This is the key to spending less than a few hours a week on content creation. With a simple workflow, you can begin to refine the system and optimize your time in the best way. Here’s a sample of mine:

    1. Add my podcast ideas to ClickUp as ideas. ClickUp is a task-management tool, and I add these ideas under my ideas column until they have a finalized date.

    2. Every 90 days, I finalize that schedule in ClickUp. Productivity is so fun to optimize. Inside the Authentic Brand Builders Academy, I teach you my exact system for using this tool.

    3. Put a day on my calendar for recording the weekly content. This typically takes me 30-45 minutes a week. I record my content directly in Descript, which pays off when I edit and repurpose my content (Note: I’ve got a video for you below to make this simple).

    4. Edit the podcast. This is so simple when you use the AI tools built into Descript. You can quickly edit lines of text, remove filler words, or even tell AI to do the editing for you! This works for video and audio podcasts, too.

    5. For my blog content/ show notes, I once again use Descript, but you could also use ChatGPT. I transcribe the audio and then use their AI tool to create a blog post from my original content. It saves me about 45 minutes. I format the content and add it to the blog, scheduled to release when the podcast does.

    6. Schedule the podcast in Libsyn. Inside the Authentic Brand Builders Academy, we walk you through this entire process!

BONUS POINTS: You can easily turn your podcast content into a blog on your website! This increases your odds of getting your episodes discovered and helps with SEO on your website. It’s insane how simple it is. Here’s how we do it:

    1. Add the blog post and embed the player in the Brandmerry Blog. Remember, I'm transcribing using Descript and then using their AI tool to turn it into blog content.

    2. Create a Pinterest image, using Canva, because Pinterest is another great tool, another amazing course available inside the Authentic Brand Builders Academy.

    3. Incorporate SEO for the blog using tools like Ubersuggest or Keywords Everywhere.

  3. Editing With Ease.
Listen, you don't have to spend a ton of money or spend hours editing your podcast for it to be successful. I edit all my own podcasts, and I call it light editing. Unless I'm experiencing a crazy coughing situation, we won't edit the podcast content. We just have the intro music, any promo materials, and the outro - all of which are prerecorded and reused week after week.

If the fear of editing or having a perfect podcast is holding you back, don't let it!

Inside the Authentic Brand Builders Academy, we teach you the step-by-step process for getting your podcast up and running. Our trainings on Podcasting, Blogging, and SEO (more below) would be perfect for you.

Hi, I'm
Michelle Knight!

My clients call me MK, and I'm a mother, wife, world traveler, and storyteller. I'm also a Brand Strategist and founder of Brandmerry.com.

I support entrepreneurs in branding themselves online, marketing their message, and creating more income and impact.

I do this by teaching the power of storytelling to create an authentic brand that allows my clients to show up as they are, build a loyal community, and experience time, financial, and location freedom as a result of their work.

Within one year of starting my business, I left my 9-to-5 and built a 6-figure business.

Then in 2019, I retired my husband, built a multiple-six-figure-a-year business, and traveled full-time in an RV.

Now, I run a multiple-six-figure-a-year business, which has generated over $1 million in revenue, and my story and business have been featured on CNBC, Entrepreneur, Fast Company, and Authority Magazine.
